Substance Abuse Recovery
Our service takes biopsychosocial approach to deal with addiction. This approach suggests that genetic/biological, psychological and sociocultural factors are all contributed to the cause of addiction. Therefore, it is important to take all factors into consideration for treatment plan.
By taking the biopsychosocial model of addiction into account, psychotherapy/counselling and psychiatric treatment will be conducted to address the problem. During the psychotherapy/ counselling session, clients will be focusing on recognising and changing their maladaptive behaviour, and learning healthy coping strategies to manage their addiction or cravings. They will also learn to restore or build a more healthy relationship with their loved ones. On the other hand, anti-craving medication will be prescribed to help them with physical cravings.
